Our tropical island paradise of Key West has always attracted people for its laid-back, relaxed atmosphere and abundant natural resources. These important features of the Key West lifestyle are showcased in two exciting events happening in early November.
Jimmy Buffett holds a special place in the hearts of Key West residents. Celebrating his “island escapism” attitude inspired by Key West, Parrot Heads from all over the world will come to the island from Thursday, November 4 , 2021 through Saturday, November 6, 2021 for their Annual Meeting of Minds. As devoted Jimmy Buffett fans, these clubs come together to meet, celebrate Buffett’s music, and engage in community service projects for the Keys such as blood and toy drives. Event festivities include the Annual Jersey Boyz Welcome Party at the Conch Republic Seafood Company on Greene Street and the Margaritaville Street Fest, which is open to the public at the corner of Duval and Fleming Streets.
Our warm ocean waters are one of the most treasured natural resources of Key West. There is always something to do on the water in the Keys, and the Annual Super Boat Key West World Championship will add its own brand of hydro-fun when Super Boat International brings its final event of the 2021 racing season to Key West. This offshore powerboat race takes place on a six-mile-long rectangular course, part of which dips into Key West Harbor. On some sections of the course, boats can reach speeds of up to 200mph! The fun begins on November 7th with race boats on display at the Truman Annex and a Boat Parade on Duval Street. Registration, races, and other events continue through November 14th and culminate with the awards presentation at the Key West Marriott Beachside Hotel for racers and their guests. Boats will be on display daily at the Truman Annex throughout the event. Sign up to their newsletter on their website for specific daily hours and race schedules.
